Open Streets Bree – 17 January 2016

We were blessed enough to once again take to the streets last Sunday, in the hope of showing Cape Town all the amazing talent that we have, and this time, it was like no other!

On Sunday, 17 January 2016 The MashUp X Hiperdelic paired up with the Open Streets team to create a platform for young and upcoming artists to do what they love, and we loved watching them! We were lucky enough to be able to present artists such as Uno July, Café Society, Nova Espada, Jedi Knight and so much more. The reaction we got from Bree Street was beyond overwhelming, people took the time out in the heat to stand and watch these young artists perform their heart out, for the love of music.

The day started out with a bang as Jedi Knight took to the stage and performed some tracks from his recently released album, Making Cents, after just one performance we grabbed the attention of the crowd and hit them with non-stop bangers from 10am until 3pm. With the non-stop flow of talent ranging from Blaze Ryders to J-Dubz to Mvula Drae to Deedoc the soul snippet, each and every one of these MCs brought their A-Game. Even our open mic session rocked the crowd with some unexpectedly amazing artists grabbing the mic such as “JahPaz”, a reggae artist from Germany and Mr T who truly surprised me, with his flow on level 100.

Even though we had a few hiccups with the sound overheating when the sun was at its peak, we made it work and it was so much more than we could have asked for! Just a massive thank you from us, The MashUp X Hiperdelic to all the parties involved who make this project such a success on a continuous basis. Also huge shout out to Mr Migo for bracing us with his artistic presents, he brought so much of the hiphop flare with his graffiti. We hope that in the future we’ll keep bringing you live entertainment that you love, and that we’ll continue to create platforms for artists who have the same vision we do. Here’s to many more…
